Why are society publishers the biggest impediment to scholarly discourse? Between ACS and AAAS, it’s no wonder the U.S. keeps falling farther and farther behind in science. Consolidation is the way these things get used - re-atomization of all this stuff makes librarians’ work exponentially more difficult and leaves users in the lurch.
